She is a graduate of the University Of Illinois, and
studied Transactional Analysis (TA) with its founder, Eric Berne. M.D. She was the first nurse to be awarded
Clinical, then Teaching Membership in its international organization. She has completed 500+
post-graduate hours in advanced clinical nutrition, herbology, physical and emotional healing and
women’s health issues.
For her work on the cyclic process of
emotional development, she received the prestigious Eric Berne Memorial Scientific Award by the members of the
International Transactional Analysis Association. Now used internationally by parents, counselors, teachers and
therapists, her work is the foundation for a parent education system, Self-Esteem, a Family Affair and Growing up Again; as well as John Bradshaw's book and PBS series, Homecoming.
Her public speaking career includes professional and lay audiences on four
continents. She contributes a local newspaper column on health and is the founding editor of the free,
bi-weekly online health improvement newsletter, BetterHealthBytes.
